Chandrashekhar Azad was afraid of ghosts and beatings (by elders) in his childhood. Once a Mahatm visited his house and when he got to know about his fear, said, “Son, do you know who become ghosts? They become ghosts who meet untimely death. People who aren’t initiated by a Guru, who do not have knowledge imparted by a Guru, who do not worship God, become worried and troubled with small problems in their lives and often become depressed and commit suicide. How can a timid person (who has become ghost) intimidate others?
As far as the fear of beating is concerned, do not do anything that may cause it. Our body is bound to die someday and even if we want to, we can’t preserve it; while our soul is immortal.”
Such inspirational words from the Mahatma made the boy courageous and fearless. This was a kind of spiritual therapy tried by the saint on Chandrashekhar. It made him so brave that the same boy brought the British to their knees.
Pujya Bapuji’s nectarine words teach: “Sorrow and trouble chase timid persons whereas they go away from a fearless person like a frightened dog with its tail between its legs. So, if you want to invite sorrow and trouble in life, then stay timid and if you want to frighten them, be fearless.
You may remain fearful of God, Guru, parents or scriptures for discipline but be fearless from those whose evil company may bring your downfall. Turn away from such people and adhere fearlessly to good values in your life.
