Sadgurunath – the lone Saviour of devotees

– Sant Jnaneshwarji

Guru is the king of the saint family. Guru is the resting place of my pranas (vital airs). When I cast a glance on this Triloki (three worlds) I find no God other than Sadguru. Guru is the ocean of bliss, a repository of love. Guru is the mountain of fortitude which does not shake in any condition. Guru is the root cause of dispassion and non-dual Supreme Brahman Himself. Guru instantly unties the knot between the Self and the not-self located in the subtle body. Guru becomes helpful to the sadhaka. Sadguru is the mother of devotees. For devotees, Sadguru is a desire-fulfilling cow Kamadhenu who gives the milk of knowledge and bliss and peace in their house. Guru applies the collyrium of knowledge to the eye of intellect of his devotee and shows him the priceless treasure of his wealth of Atman. Guru blesses a seeker, after liberation, with sadhana and seva and thereby avails him of the Self-knowledge possessed by Self-realised Sadhus. Guru is the radiance of liberation. Guru inflicts punishment on the wicked and destroys the sins of disciples by various means. Guru imparts instructions to his disciples: ‘Your body is verily Kashi’ and gives the Taraka mantra. So my mind is naturally fixed in meditation on the husband of Rukmini Devi and the Father of the Universe (Lord Krishna).
