Ward off disease, do not be suppressed by it
– Pujya Bapuji
Those who have not heard satsang, when they become ill, become distressed: ‘I am ill…. I am ill….’, but the listener of satsang discourses thinks: ‘I am not ill, it is the body that is ill. I am the knower of the illness. This rascal has come and I shall ward it off and I shall not be suppressed by it thinking: ‘I am ill.’ Hari Om… Om… Om…. It is the body that has contracted a disease. It is the mind that is afflicted by pain. I know the illness of the body as well as the affliction of the mind. I also know the worry affecting the mind. ‘I myself am the master of all these situations!’ During the illness, think, ‘I am not ill; it is a penance being performed by the body. My bad karmas are being worked out.’ With such a mental attitude, bear the pain and try to alleviate it. By doing this, bad karmas will be worked out, penance will be done and a disease free state will be attained. You get help in accordance with the firm resolve of your mind.
